Holy Land USA Waterbury is a triumph of American Folk Art that lives just a few towns away from my home, and we have drove by it my entire life. In 2011, my cousins and I went to explore this abandoned roadside attraction, that in its heyday attracted 40K visitors annual. It was overgrown, a forest of trees, bushes, and decrepit biblical references on top of a hill in Waterbury, CT. In 2014 it was purchased by the town, cleaned up, and is really quite a sight to see!
TJ took me back for the second time this year, on a beautiful May evening, & we hiked to the top of the mountain.
