Chasing waterfalls, Connecticut style.
Wadsworth Falls was roaring during our recent waterfall road trip, and the sound alone was worth the hike. Not too hard, not too easy—just right. The water was wild, the light was magical, and the energy? Pure refreshment.
This journey is just getting started!
Catch the full moment in motion here:

Next stop on our Connecticut Waterfall Road Trip: Chapman Falls at Devil’s Hopyard State Park! These gorgeous falls cascade over unique rock formations with a steady, powerful flow.
The hike down to the base (and back up again) is a solid 7 out of 10 for difficulty (rating for all ages, all experience levels), but absolutely worth it for the views and the experience.
Local legend says the oddly shaped potholes in the rock were formed by the devil himself—his hoofprints scorched into stone as he fled the area. Spooky? Maybe. Beautiful? Definitely.
Another gem in our one-day, adventure!

Next up on our Connecticut Waterfall Road Trip: Mill Pond Falls in Newington, CT! Known as the smallest natural waterfall in the U.S., this charming spot is a local favorite and a perfect quick stop on your journey.
It’s a 1 out of 10 on the difficulty scale—super easy, with flat ground and a short stroll from the parking area. No climbing, just peaceful vibes and a picture-perfect little waterfall framed by a cozy park setting. A great spot for families, a quiet moment, or a sweet nature break in the middle of town.
Small but mighty—and full of charm!

Enders Falls in Granby, CT is one of the most beautiful stops on our Connecticut Waterfall Road Trip! With a series of cascading falls surrounded by lush forest, this spot feels like a hidden woodland dream. The path includes well-worn trails and stairs, but the climb back up is no joke—an 8 out of 10 for difficulty thanks to the steepness.
We didn’t make it all the way to the bottom this time (so many waterfalls, so little time!), but the views along the way were absolutely worth it. If you're headed here, take your time, wear good shoes, and bring the bug spray—trust us!
A magical spot for those ready for a little extra effort and a lot of natural beauty.

Buttermilk Falls in Plymouth, CT is a tucked-away gem that feels like a true adventure. The entrance is hidden along a steep, winding road through a quiet neighborhood—unmarked and easy to miss. Once you find it, you’ll follow a forest path and the sound of rushing water to reach the falls.
This stop rates a 7 out of 10 for difficulty. The trail is narrow, uneven, and the best views are from a steep ridge, so be careful and wear proper footwear. It’s wild, beautiful, and less traveled—perfect for those looking to get off the beaten path and into nature’s raw beauty.

Kent Falls in Kent, CT is easily one of the most popular—and most beloved—waterfalls in the state, and after visiting, it’s clear why. With a spacious open field, picnic benches, and grills, it’s the perfect spot to spend the day soaking in the beauty of the falls.
It’s a family-friendly destination with a 3 out of 10 difficulty rating—just a walk across the lawn and a few stairs if you want to get closer to the falls. For the brave, there's a stairway that leads you up alongside the cascades for a more adventurous view.
This is the only spot on our waterfall road trip where you can truly relax, hang out, and let the falls be your backdrop for an unforgettable afternoon.
